Peaceful's - Beef Roll
On the 12th day of X'mas, my true love sent to me ...
Peaceful Beef Roll!
Lovely crispy Chinese pancake rolled with sliced tender five-spice beef, scallions, and a northern fermented bean paste similar to hoisin. The pancake is flaky and crispy - A ménage à trois between a croissant, roti canai and green onion pancake.

For those not into red meat or wanting an alternative option, their Potato Roll is excellent. It is exactly the same pancake but rolled in julienned potato mixture.

Thanks to Fmed and Grayelf for introducing me to this place.

Yay, a new post on Time To Chow --time to celebrate!
Glad you liked it. I take it you've been back since? I've found the beef roll can be a bit inconsistent but no probs so far with the spud one :-).

Yes! Been back twice. I agree the beef roll can be inconsistent. I can imagine the pancake being oily and the beef dry.
I actually prefer the beef at Chef Hung, Aberdeen. But Peaceful's pancake/crepe is flakier and crispier. And when the beef is done right, the texture, crunch and savory moistness is an incredible mouthful.
I like the spud one's too. As well as the cold noodles with shredded cucumbers. What an interesting dish. Would the noodles be equatable to Japanese sunomono?
